Massachusetts Home Transformed with Warmboard Radiant Heat
In this blog post, we’ll delve into the firsthand experience of a homeowner from Lexington, Massachusetts, who recently installed a Warmboard radiant floor heating system. This system has transformed their home into a warm and cozy haven, which will be especially important during the harsh winter months.
Massachusetts winters can be quite intense, with freezing temperatures, icy winds, and frequent snowstorms. Homeowners in the Bay State often face the challenge of keeping their homes warm and comfortable during these harsh conditions. The Warmboard Comfort System offers a solution that not only provides efficient heating but also enhances overall comfort and indoor air quality.
Why did the homeowner chose Warmboard?
The homeowners were drawn to Warmboard for several reasons:
- Health Benefits: Radiant heating system eliminates the need for forced-air systems which circulate allergens and airborne pollutants. This is particularly beneficial for individuals with allergies or respiratory sensitivities.
- Energy Efficiency: Warmboard’s efficient heating method ensures that heat is distributed evenly throughout the home, dramatically reducing energy consumption and lowering utility bills.
- Comfort: The gentle, radiant heat provides a comfortable and consistent temperature, creating a pleasant living environment for every occupant in the home.
The Warmboard Experience
After several months of living with the Warmboard Comfort System, the homeowners have highlighted the following benefits:
- Pleasant Mornings: The consistent warmth provided by the radiant floor makes mornings more enjoyable. No more waking up with stuffy noses!
- Reduced Dust and Allergens: The absence of forced-air heating minimizes dust and allergen circulation, improving indoor air quality.
- Quiet Operation: Warmboard operates silently, creating a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere.
- Effortless Heating: The system’s efficient design requires minimal maintenance and provides reliable, consistent heat.
- Precise Zoning: The ability to zone the heating system allows for customized temperature control in different areas of the home.
The homeowner’s positive experience with Warmboard underscores our ability to enhance comfort, improve indoor air quality (IAQ), and reduce energy consumption. If you’re considering a radiant floor heating system, Warmboard is definitely worth exploring.

Julie: Today, I’m back on site in Lexington, Massachusetts. As you can see, the home behind me is complete. But one year and one day ago, I was on site, and the project was very much under construction. The homeowners have been moved in since June, and they’re experiencing their first winter now. Today, it’s 30 degrees here outside of Boston. Let’s go inside and hear their experience so far.
Homeowner: We chose radiant for a few reasons. The biggest one being the health reasons. Most of our kids and even parents have allergies, seasonal allergies in particular. So, we didn’t like that the forced air was throwing a bunch of pollutants in our face, making us unhealthy. That was one of the key reasons. But also, the efficiency of the radiant heating is something that was a lot more desirable to us. Also, that meant it was cheaper to heat where you were, not up in the ceiling, given that the hot air rises up in the forced-air system. It’s just cool. It’s just that it feels like every step you take is pleasant because you’re greeted by this warmth. It’s a surprising outcome in the middle of winter. It’s enjoyable to walk around the house.
We decided on Warmboard because it had the most all-in-one system. You open the box and set it up, so it was foolproof. It was a closed box, so we didn’t need anything else than that system and that system alone.
My wife will tell you that the mornings are a lot more pleasant. You wake up, and it’s just a steady stream of warmth. It’s not too hot, it’s not too cold. It’s perfect. You’re kind of beyond the climate outside, so it always feels sort of detached from the outside. I like that there’s no dust around and no dust is being thrown out in the air. I like that it’s quiet. I like that it’s just so effortless. It feels like it’s the feather of heating. It does a lot of work, but then it does it so that you don’t see it. It’s behind the scenes, and it just seems so effortless.
We have 18 zones. A typical kid’s bedroom will have three: one in the closet, one in the bathroom, and one in the main area. We designed it so that we can zone it. That’s one of the other things I like a lot about Warmboard is that the zoning works really, really well. Unlike a forced-air system, where you can’t zone as many as 18, of course, when you open the door inside, the air kind of travels, and then you lose all of the climatized air. So, that over time kind of balances out. But in this case, because the source of the heat is on the floor, it stays there a lot longer than otherwise would.
